Support Code 5B00/ 5B01/ 5B02 on Canon inkjet Printer Cause and How to Fix

Symtom:

Most of the Canon Single Function and Multi-function inkjet printer , after a period of using time, they often occur the error message with the support code 5B00 / 5B01 / 5B02/…on the PC and the printer can not print . Check the printer , you can see this symptom : the printer stop working , the Power and Alarm lamps will alternate blinking (flashing) 7 times in circly .

Cause :

the ink absorber is full or nearly full / the value of the ink absorber counter exceeds 100%.

The error will be indicated when the applicable ink absorber counter value exceeds 100% at power-on during purging .

How to fix : 

Clear the the value of the ink absorber counter (EPPROM) / waste ink counter on printer (by hand or software depend on model ) and Replace the Absorber unit (optional/ elective)

Before start please attention which be listed bellow

• Only Canon G series inkjet printer can clear the value of the ink absorber by hand , all the other model have to use software (service tool) which is only can be used at the authorized service center .
• Do not try to use the un-official service tool (software) to clear the counter value, do not download from many website on the internet, it would be damage your printer more serious . 

Step 1 : if your printer is G1000/ G2000 / G3000 , make sure it use the latest firmware (the firmware must be V3.3 or later) . To update Canon G series to latest firmware . You can download from Canon Website and follow the introduction to update :

Step 2 : Enter to Canon Service Mode and clear the waste ink counter

For Canon G1000/ G2000/ G3000:

1) Turn off a printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button.
The LED lights green to indicate that functions are selectable.
2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)
3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button 5 times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED alternately lights in either orange or green, starting with orange.)
4) When the LED lights green, press the Resume/Cancel button 5 times, and then press the Power button to select the waste ink counter clear function. ( the LED alternately lights in either orange or green, starting with orange).
5) Turn off the printer by press Power button . Finish .

For Canon G1010/ G2010/ G3010:
